Mystic Independent Theater is perfectly suited for businesses, educators and community organizations. Our intimate setting with direct focus on the presenter, will help you deliver an effective presentation. Adjustable lighting, professional video and sound, and large comfortable seats will help your audience relax and enjoy what you have to offer. The theater can accommodate audiences of 46 or fewer.

• Our video projector can be used for PowerPoint presentations as well as DVD or VHS video. *See copyright requirements below for films. You must supply your own laptop, and compatibility must be determined. A compatibility test is recommended prior to booking.

• There is plenty of room on stage to display charts and graphs.

• A small “green room” adjoins the stage, where you can prepare for your presentation, or for accommodation of speakers when not required on stage.

• Three 6-foot long tables are available for merchandise or other displays.

Presentations in the theater will be open to the public unless held as a private event, and may include:

• Sales presentations
• Educational presentations
• Awards ceremonies
• Academic symposiums
• Interactive group events
• Fund-raisers and discussions
• Political events

Advertising your event

Mystic Independent Theater will advertise public events on our website. Your event may be stored in our database and promoted to local listings, news agencies, magazines or other media. You may handle such advertising yourself if you choose.

If your presentation is by invitation only, you may consider reserving the theater as a private event. Private events will not be advertised.

Specs & equipment

Seats: 46 seats

Seat Type: Configured in tiers, at a 15-degree slope stepped upwards from the bottom of the theater, to allow more guests to see an event.

Projection: Digital Cinema Projection (Crystal View HD-720 1-ChipVideo Projector)

Stage dimensions: 24 feet long x 6.5 feet deep. Stage is raised on a 5-inch platform.

Media: DVD, VHS, computer-driven presentations, i.e., PowerPoint. You must supply your own lap-top computer and may be required to supply cables with your presentation. We have several cable connections in place. Please contact us for compatibility, some restrictions may apply.

Sound: Three in wall Sonance Siluette Speakers and an in wall Subwoofer System flank a Draper 106 inch fixed at 1200 screen. In-wall Pairsonance Rear Speakers complete the video and sound system.

To reserve the theater with film or video capability

The theater is available with or without audio and video capability. All film/video presentations will require the use of an audio/visual technician on our staff. You may be required to bring in your own engineer to for projects outside the range of DVD/VHS or PowerPoint presentations.

*To show a film for public or private events, you must own the copyright, obtain permission from the copyright owner, or purchase a public performance license prior to your event.

The theater is downstairs, not wheelchair-accessible

The building is handicapped accessible, however the theater is not, and requires going downstairs. Public restrooms are available one level up, on the ground floor. We regret that we cannot accommodate all, due these restrictions.
