After six years of study as a classical violinist, Alan Semenovich replaced the disciplined world of Mozart and Beethoven with a bass guitar and a newly discovered sound called "rock & roll".

Following his early days as a bassist for Blank Expression, Out of the Blue, Hejl and Reign and later Destiny and Sunface, he discovered that his musical heart was in writing and performing his own brand of acoustic rock & roll.

Semenovich has touched audiences with his emotionally charged acoustic performances in such venues as The Guilded Otter (New Paltz, NY), Cafe Aurora (Poughkeepsie, NY), The Flo-Jean (Port Jervis, NY), The Black Cow (Croton-On-Hudson, NY), The Annual Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Festival (Burlington, VT) The Muddy Cup (New Paltz), The Underground Lounge (NYC), Club 169 (NYC), 181 Cabrini (NYC),The Red Room (NYC), and has even played a private party for United States Senator Ben "Nighthorse" Campbell in Durango, Colorado. He's shared a stage with Pete Seeger at The Arlington Street Festival in 2003. Cuts from his 2005 CD - Caravelle Lounge Motel have received airplay on upstate New York radio stations.

Notable among Semenovich's writings and performance credits are the theme song to the independent film "Due Diligence" (Living Room Theater productions) and the theme song to the children's show "Witch Way Out?" for Time Warner Cable. As far as bass playing, Alan has played shows for Commander Cody, Dallas Fisher, The Handsome Men,and recently , jazz trio...CPR. He was voted Favorite Artist to Keep an Eye Out For in 2002, and has consistently placed as Favorite Solo Artist in the Hudson Valley in Rhythm & News magazine's annual reader's poll.

May I Be Frank documents the transformation of Frank Ferrante’s life. Frank is 54 years old, obese, depressed and addicted. He stumbles into a local raw, organic and vegan restaurant in San Francisco, Café Gratitude. When Ryland, a server at Café Gratitude asks Frank “What is one thing you want to do before you die?” Frank replies, “I want to fall in love one more time, but no one will love me looking the way I do”.

Ryland, his brother Cary, and Conor, his best friend, are inspired by the possibility of helping Frank. For the next 42 days, Frank will eat only raw food, practice gratitude, visit local holistic practitioners, and get a weekly colonic. Ryland, Conor, and Cary get to support Frank’s miraculous transformation. Frank gets a new body, a clearer mind, and most importantly, a soaring spirit. May I Be Frank documents the essence of the human condition and what it truly means to fall in love again.
